Our story

We started as two family firms at the beginning of the 1930s, when lawyers Harry Zurcher-Acuña and Rodrigo Odio-González opened their offices in the city of San José. Based on a great deal of hard work and effort, both firms made their way through the big firms of that time until each one of them established itself amongst the top law firms in Costa Rica.

Both firms gradually started growing and incorporating professionals with family ties to the founders first, Alberto Raven-Ramírez and Erick Montoya-Zurcher, and subsequently a series of colleagues that were always bound to by the drive for self-improvement and unconditional service to the clients. At the beginning of this century, and to achieve a better service for our clients, the second generation of lawyers from both firms decided to merge them and thus create one of the most recognized firms in the region.

We acknowledged from the beginning the need to provide a comprehensive service, and that is the reason why throughout the decades we have been incorporating practice areas lead by renowned professionals until becoming the firm our clients resort to for solutions to their most complex legal challenges. This has positioned us as the law firm that accompanies our clients through their investments in the country, resolves their disputes in and out of court, guides them through their interaction with public institutions, facilitates their participation in national and international trade markets and, in general terms, our platform has allowed us to advise our clients on all business areas they require counsel on in Costa Rica.

As lawyers, we have always taken on the responsibility of using our work and effort to make a difference and force change, fight against injustice and make justice prevail in everything we do. Therefore, in addition to our professional duties, we have proudly participated in different fields of national activities throughout the years, always trying to positively impact those with whom we interact.
