Internship

"I very much enjoyed my summer here at Zurcher and I learned an incredible amount about the law in Costa Rica, law under a civil code, and international business law. The clients I worked with over the summer included General Electric, Procter Gamble, and individual real estate investors. It was very important to the attorneys here at Zurcher that I be challenged and involved with our clients, and they were always open to my questions about our work. I drafted memos, shareholder´s agreements, client letters, and had the opportunity to jointly prepare a memo for lawyers in the US on Costa Rican law, with a Costa Rican law student and an attorney. With attorneys at Zurcher, I coordinated discussions of issues with clients and participated in internal meetings and meetings with clients and on behalf of clients.

My Spanish improved astronomically, as I was constantly translating concepts back and forth from English to Spanish. It was a great privilege to have the opportunity to work with the dedicated attorneys, paralegals, and staff at Zurcher, and to learn about a different legal system from the practitioner standpoint."
