We offer our legal services to diverse financial institutions
including brokerage Firms and companies that discount invoices,
leasing and other forms of financing for commercial activities.
Some members of our Firm have been recruited after having
served as Directors of the Legal Department of the
National Stock Exchange. Such involvement has allowed
them to actively participate in passing the main piece of
legislation that regulates this economic activity (The
Regulatory Law for the Stock Market) as well as other
important laws and regulations.
The Firm has actively been
involved as consultant and defendant of the interests of many
companies and has always maintained close contact with local
authorities and regulatory entities such as SUGEVAL
(General Superintendence of Stocks and Securities),
SUGEF (General Superintendence of Financial
Entities) and CONASSIF (National
Council of Supervision of the Financial System). The
strong presence of the Firm in the financial sector has become
apparent by its patronage for the creation of the Costa
Rican Chamber of Security Issuers.
We have also experience
in the design and structuring of commodity and financial derivatives
for hedging, speculation and arbitrage, including knowledge
of the contractual and regulatory aspects of operations, and
their impact in exchange, tax and financial law.
